REMOVING THE STIGMA

A number of amendments designed to give_ effect to a proposal which - was outlined on the second reading of the Bill were effected by the Legislative Council yesterday in the Prevention of Crime (Borstal Institutions Establishment) Bill.

The principal effect of the alteration is to provide that orders for commitment to a Borstal institution instead of sentences^ of imprisonment, and for detention instead of imprisonment.
