Much interest centred in the poll taken yesterday by the Matanuita County Council on a proposed loan of £201,000, of which £160,000 is for main county roads, and the balance for repayment of special loans. The poll was carried by .582 votes to 236.
TAUMARUNLU". This Day
The Boroush Council loan proposal to raise £lt7ooo for extension of the hydro-electric scheme and £6000 for river protection works, was carried by a substantial majority, the voting vii e.-ieU prgpugul b.eiog 123 votes for nutl 13 tti-'itiaet.
