DRIED FRUIT TRADE
"LESS DEPENDENT UPON NEW ZEALAND." (Received 29th September, 10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, 28th September. Mr. Pratten, speaking on the effects of the Canadian-Australian trade agreement on dried fruits, stated that I Canada nowi imports 20,000 tons of I dried fruits, and he hoped that Australia's proportion would be considerably increased. A greater demand would make th,e Commonwealth far less dependent for a market upon New Zealand.
