THE EGG MARKET
Local prices for eggs have been advanced Id per dozen. Stocks aro being accumulated for overseas shipment. The High Commissioner, cabling to the Department of Agriculture, London, 27th September, advises as follows:—"Egg market firm on short supplies and improved prioen—English, Irish. Danish, and Dutch, 17s 6d to 24s per'long hundred (of ten dozen); Belgian, Italian, South African, and Argentine, 18s to 21s; Lithuanian, 13s 6d to lGs 6d ; Russian and Moroccan, 11s 6d to 145."
