PARLIAMENT
TO-NIGHT'S BUSINESS
As indicated by the Prime Minister before the House of Representatives adjourned over tbe -week-end, tbe proceedings in the House this evening should bo light. There is no sitting fchis afternoon, as for the present Monday iB still a frje day, but the House will resume at 7.30 p.m. Local Bills appear first on the Order1 Paper, and the debate on one or two of these ni;iy occupy some time. Members of the Labour Party have indicated that they will oppose strongly the Wellington City Mangahao Endowment Sale Empowering Bill dealing with the disposal of the Pahiatua leases—which is to be committed. Other measures for consideration are the Auckland Harbour Board Loan and Empowering Bill, the Auckland City Abattoir Bill, and the Hauraki Plains County Council Empowering Bill, all of which are Befc^ down for second reading. If these Bills are all disposed of at a reasonably early hour, an opportunity may be given for the presentation of reports.
