MEXICO CITY, 24th October.
The Foreign Affairs Department has ordered the closing of the Mexican Consulates in London, Liverpool, and Glasgow, also all the honorary consulates throughout Britain, indicating tho complete suppression of commercial relations The United States Embassy here took over the archives of the British Embassy last June, following the withdrawal of tho British Agent, Mr. H. A. C Cummins, in connection with the affair of »m E™ns> who was later assassinated. Although the British Embassy has been closed for some time, Britain has maintained the Consul-lGenci-al hero and Consular officials at other points in Mexico.
lha Foreign Minister, Senor Seanz, states that the decision to recall the Consuls "does not imply a desire or. the part of Mexico to show hostility to Britain but obeys sentiment and decorum we believing it to be unworthy of us to maintain Consular representatives under a Government which does not concede Mexico the honour of official relations According to Senor Seanz, the British Consuls in Mexico will continue to enjoy their guarantees if they are not recalled.
