UI 5 0nsid"'able- interest that I have followed the recent controversy concerning tho above proposed tram route, and it appears to Wtht* there are considerable disadvantages, and especially in one ewe no little 'danger to.traffic, entailed by the two proposed routes besides a very heavy expense to the city in preparing and laying the permanent way.. , 6 j It appears to ms that thero is another route which would considerably lessen the tramway between Karori and tho city which has been overlooked, viz , that of Hawkestone stroet. This is a track, which could bo laid without- a great deal of expenditure and- would practically bo as short us tho proposed bydney-Bowen street route, with, as far as I can sec, nono of the objections which tho former two proposed routes Hro subject to.—l am, etc., 9A.V « » . It was agreed at the council meeting on ihureday that a- team of Corporation horses should bo exhibited at tho Mamiwutu Show.
