FORDSDALE'S RETURN
UNION RENEWS ITS ATTACK.

It has been learned that a stop-work meeting of the Seamen's Union decided that another attempt shall be made to lay' up the Commonwealth steamer Fordsdalu on her return from England on Thursday. The trouble is due to the original manning of the vessel.
The Fordsdalo, which is the largest of the Commonwealth liners, is returning from her maiden voyage to England Prior to her sailing on 21st March, the ship had been delayed owing to the demand of the Seamen's Union for the right to select her crew by ballot. The owners declared that no crew would be acceptable except one chosen by' themselves, and as no men offered at'the moment, except those selected by the ballot the ship was laid up. Next day, however' union members disregarded the union's instructions, and a crew was signed on
