FAVOURITE
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPSEIOBI.)
(AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLB ASSOCIATION.)
(Received 23rd June, 1 p.m.)
LONDON, 22nd June.
An attempt wa.s made to prevent Rose Prince, winner of the 1923 Cesarewitch Stakes, from starting in the Alexandra Stakes at Ascot, for which he was heavily backed. The stable was entered during the' night and Rose Prince was driven out and found roaming the fields in the morning. He was a considerable distance away from stable, and, accordingly, receded heavily in betting, as he did not appear to have a chance in the race. He won, however, by a neck.
