KARORI RIFLE CLUB
PRESENTATION OF PRIZES.
Prizes won by members of the Karori Rifle Club were presented by the club's president (Mr. W. H. Field, M.P.) at v social function held at Dustin's on Saturday evening. .President H. T. Marshall presided over a large number of riflemen and their fnends. Those present included the Mayor (Mr. R A Wright, M.P.), Sir Jo"hn Luke, M.P., and Lieut.-Colonel R. B. Smyth. Apologies for absence were received from Major-General Melvill, G.0.C., Ne-v Zealand- forces, and Colonel R. J. ColI:ns.
The prize list was as follows:—A. V. Swanson, championship and gold medal and president's trophy, C.A.O. cup and miniature, Johnson Cup and miniature grand aggregate; H. V. Croxton, second (club championship), second (Willoughby Cup); G. Stamp Taylor, third (club championship), third (handicap a""regiite); 0. M. Ching, first prize (handicap aggregate), Moore Memorial Cup first prize (Bertram Cup), third prize (Willoughby Cup); H. T. Marshall, first prize (Wilioughby Cup and miniature); A. I. Coleman, second prize (handicap aggregate); E. E. Ackland. fourth prize (handicap aggregate); A. S. T. Butler, fourth (fortnightly competition); E. W. Daniel, second prize (Bertram Cup); R. Caughley, second prize (C.A.C. Cup); j. S. Ellis, fourth prize (Willoughby Cup). Fortnightly club competition trophies \vere won by A. V. Swanson, H. V- Croxton, G. Stamp Taylor, H. T. Marshall, A. I. Coleman, E. Ackland, E. W. Daniel, A. S. T. Butler, W Judd, F. W. Ching, R. H. Caldwell W Webb, and W. Stanton.

An entertaining programme was arranged by Mr. P. Barcham, the following contributing musical numbers-— ,Messrs. A. Edward, Hutton, J. Hurst .1. Roberts, R, Deane, Doug, Hislop! and a. h. Wilson (accompanist). Mr -1. Edwards contributed lightning sketches. • °.
During the evening Mr. E. Ballinger who coached the Karori Club's team that won the' Collins Shield, was presented with a photograph of the team. President Marshall also received the Lnion Shield (senior) on behalf of the cmb from the Wellington Rifle Association.
