SOCCER PLAYER DIES RESULT COLLISION.

AUCKLAND, 22nd June. William Scarffe, 37 years of age, a resident of Devonport, died in the hospital last night as the result of internal injuries received in an Association foot"ball match, He was playing for the Londoners Club in a second B grade match against V.M.C.A., when he collided with another player. N. J.. Gribble, aged about 21 years, the well-known amateur hurdler, collided with another player while i>laying for King's College Old Boys in a senior Rugby match against Newton, and sustained a double fracture of his leg.
