CANADIAN RESTRICTIONS

A CHINESE DEMONSTRATION.

OTTAWA. 14th June.

The first of July, Dominion Day,'will be observed by Chinese residents throughout Canada as a day of humiliation, in order to show their indignation at new immigration regulations, which, under penalty of fines, imprisonment, or deportation, require the registration of all Chinese in Canada, with photographs and personal details. It is said that flags will be flown at half-mast, and that Chinese homes will be festooned with mourning wreaths.
