A meeting of the Left Parties o£ both Chambers, to select a candidate for tomorrow's election of the President of the Republic, resulted in M. Painlsve obtaining 306 votes, and M. Doumergue 149. Tho successful candidate must obtain an absolute majority of the votes of the 872 deputies and senators who are expected to be present for the election.
