In his last two simultaneous displays Mr. Kostich. j who has a! charming personality, and I who speaks English fluently, played 52 games, scoring 51 wins and 1 draw. He ; gave another of his instructive lectures, | won two exhibition games from Mr. C. ' G. Watson (winner of "the last Austra- ; lian Championship Congress), and finish- . Ed up with a blincffold performance, in j which he made 240 moves in 3i hours, ;,winning from three opponents and draw- | ing with the other three. During hi* j stay in Sydney, Mr. Koslich will be , the guest .of the New South Wales : Chess Association. He was to bo given ; a reception dinner on 2nd June at the : Sydney Chess Club Millions Club, after . which he was to deliver one of his popu- ■ lar lectures on chess, this being followed by a "smoke conversazione." He I has a three-weeks',^programme to get j through in 'New South Wales, after i which he proceeds to Queensland. The ; clubs affiliated with the New Zealand I Chess Association have now before them : the matter of getting this Dominion in- • eluded in Mr. Kostich's tour. Good sup- \ port, has been promised in Masterton • and Wellington, and it is hoped that I other centres will be at least eqnally | enthusiastic. There is, however, not much time to lose. ■'
