AT KARORI
WORK OF PROGRESSIVE ASSO-
The annual meeting of. the Karori Progressive Association was held last evening in the Municipal Chambers, Mr. W A Andrews presiding over a good at tendance of members. :. ■
Reports were made as-to the work done during the past year, and satisfaction was expressed at several benefits which had accrued as a. result of. the association's representations. Satisfac-tion-was also expressed at the prospect of the early service of the district with water, drainage, and gas. Several speakers urged the advisability of the duplication of the train track from Dixs comer to the old deviation; it was'stated that several accidents had already occurred at this spot.
Other works to be pressed for durine the current year are the laying : down of tennis courts at Karori Park>. provision of play areas for children improvement of footpaths, the widening of the road at Cemetery corner, and the planting of the reserve at the cemetery. .
