UPPER HUTT TOWN BOARD
The fortnightly meeting of the Upper Hutt Town Board was held last Wednesday night, when various '-matters in connection with the proposed sewage scheme were considered. , Tho chairman stated that tho necessary preliminaries were now complete, and it was proposed to tall a public meeting at an early date, and to invite the board's engineer to attend and explain, the proposal to'the ratepayers. " ' \, - ■■'"■. The exceptional amount of heavy traffic which, owing to the stoppage of the railways, has bean passing through the town district" recently, has had a very serious-effect ;on the main road, and it has been found necessary to employ extra labour to repair the damage.
