.NELSON, 10th April.' A public meeting was held last Friday evening, with a view to reviving the ■Nelson Savage Club. The Mayor,- Mr. iW. Lock, presided. After the-Mayor and Messrs. Gould and M'Cabe had' spoken on the matter, recalling the enjoyable evenings and gopd fellowship.' amons members when the club existed some years ago, it was proposed.by Mr. Saunders, and seconded by Mr. Betts, : that the1 Nelson Savage Club be revived. The motion was enthusiastically carried. Mr. T. A. Field was elected Chief Savage, and a provisional committee, consisting of Messrs. Rout, Mitchell, M'Cabe, and Saunders, was appointed to arrange for the first .korero, and Mr. Parker was appointed secretary and treasurer. The annual subscription was fixed at,los 6d. In response to tho chairman's invitation, all present became members. Tfc was later decided to hold the. first korero at the Haeremai' Tea Rooms. An orchestra, organised bY Mr. Vitetta, has been, arranged for.1 . The visiting .delegates" to tfce Manchester Unity' Oddfellows' Biennial Movable Conference had a great day yesterday while visiting tho apple lands. After going through the Tasman area the delegates visited the Bluff's packing' shed, and witnessed the process of apple fading and packing.
