LONDON,, 4th April. ■ A receiving order in bankruptcy has been made in the Oldham County Court against* Sir William Hop wood", formerly known as the Cotton1 Napoleon. He began work at the age of eight years in a cotton mill, and became •;i. director in thirty-one companies. ' It iij reported that his transactions in the cotton boom of 1920 amounted to thirty millions sterling. It is estimated that he gave £50,000 to charities. An earlier receiving order was rescinded,- the creditors Ijhen being' fully paid up. "•
