SEVERAL TEAMS AT PRACTICE.

As a preliminary to the opening of the 1924 Association football season next Saturday, several practice games were played on Saturday, and an indication was given that the various teams in the senior competition have some promising material at their disposal. Diamonds and Hospital met at Porirua, and a good game resulted in a win by the former by 5 goals to 2. The ground at the Hospital was in first-class order. With the sun at their backs, Hospital had the best of matters in the first spell, which ended with the score at 2 tc nil in their favour. The changeround saw a change in the fortunes of the game, and the town team put on 4 goals. The match ended: Diamonds 5, Hospital 2. A match " between the newly-formed Thorndon Club and a team representing Diamonds ended in a draw, each side scoring one goal. Per medium of Landymore, Diamonds secured a lead in the first spell, and Scnnltz levelled matters up in the second spell. Mr. A. G. Barnett was the referee.
