KELBURN CLUB COMPETITIONS.

Tho championship singles were csmpleted "last week, when in the final, the best of three games, Mrs. Henderson (winner of the first life) met Mrs. Gardner (winner of the second life). In .the first game Mrs. Henderson had a comparatively easy victory—26-13. The second game was won by Mrs. Gardner, 26----19. The third and decisive game proved more exciting. In the final stage the (■ontestants were even, each with only three points- ts make. Mrs. Henderson had her balls laid for a perfect drive to the last hoop, when Mrs. Gardner, with ■i wonderfully good long shot, secured the advantage and won, 26-23. Mrs. Gardner was thus declared Kelburn's champion for 1924. FRENCH CROQUET/ The competition in French croquet was most enthusiastically entered into by a great number of players, and some exceflent scores were. put up. After many keen contests Mrs. M'Dowell won the first life, and Mrs. Spencer the second. Trophies for this competition were very kindly presented by Mrs. Watkin. CONSOLATION EVENT. ■ A 'consolation event, arranged in two divisions, and which will take the form of handicap singles (half-game), will be commenced on Wednesday! Members desirous of competing are requested to enter their names not later than Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock, and all competitors must be prepared to play at the timo specified.- Prizes for this ovent have been very kindly promised by Itfesdames M'Dowell and Spencer. Progressive croquet, as previously arranged, will be played on Saturday afternoon, commencing at 2 o'clock.
