NIPPING IT IN THE BUD

SPECULATION IN CURRENCY.

PARIS, 17th March. The Finance Minister lias also issued a circular to all bankers and stock-bro-kers' prohibiting the carrying over of all foreign currency, or advances on securities which might give foreign speculators supplies of francs. It is hoped this will nip all speculation in the bud.

So far none of the United States or British money has been used to support the franc.

The Government hopes to stabilise the franc at 82£.
