PUBLICWORKS EMPLOYEES
SEEKING INCREASE; IN WAGES.
Bissatisfaotion qxists among Public Works employees regarding the wages which they are at present receiving. The men are seeking an increase of. Is 8d per day in the minimum wage, thus raising it from 13s 4dto 15s. If this demand is granted it practically means going back to the ratjs in the 1919 agreement. Representatives ,of the men will meet the Minister of Public Works (the Hon. J. ; G, . Coates) at.' 9.30 a.m. to-morrow to discuss the proposals for.a wages increase.
