THE WELLINGTON CLUB
The issue of the Wellington Chess ' Club s annual championship tourney is now narrowed down to Messrs. W E Mason and R. J. Barnes, Mr. Wigbam having lost to Mr. Fouhy in the last round on Saturday evening. Interest centred mainly in the fixture W. E. Mason v. W. Mackay, which was adjourned in an even state after thre* hours' play. A draw in this game would suffice to give Mason the championship, as he won from Barnes when concluding their adjourned game on Tuesday evening. The leaders' scores are as follow :
