CRICKET
BIG- SCORING IN AUSTRALIA,
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. COFTRIGST,)
(Received 27th November, 10 a.m.)
SYDNEY, This Day. Consistent piling up of big scores since the opening of the cricket season has led to much Press comment on the lack of high-class bowlers in first-grade cricket. The need for remedying this weakness is urged by the Press. Amongst the tall scores during the weekend were those of the Gordon team, which compiled 528 for the loss of fivo wickets. Western- Suburbs lost only two wickets for 405 runs, and Waverley replied to University's scpre of 434 with 367 for the loss of four wickets.
