DROWNING FATALITIES
(Bt TELISOIUPH.— PJJESS ASSOCIATION.) ■o i. t DUKEDIN, Ist November. Robert Johnston (four years old) wa* drowned in 1 the Kaikorai Stream at Green Island this evening. The boy was missed about 4.50 p.m., and the body'was found in the stream at 8 o'clock. : ' GORE, Ist November. Tommy Bates (aged 11 years) fell off a groyne into the Mataura River at Gore this afternoon. The boy made a heroic struggle for life, but was caught in, the strong current and sucked under.- '_Attempts at rescue also-failed. The body! has not been recovered.
