TAXATION ON GOLD BASIS

(RBUTBR'S TELEGRAM.)

BERLIN, loth October

A decree signed by President Erbert, Herr Stresemann, and Herr Luther, provides that all taxes must in future be paid according to the gold standard, instead of being assessed in paper marks, which lose their value by the time the taxes are' actually paid. Further decrees aiming at the recuperation of the country's finances will be issued shortly regardless of whether the Reichstag passes the Emergency Law or not.
