PERSONAL MATTERS
The Hon. D. H. Guthrie (Minister o! Lands) will leave Auckland for Wellington on Tuesday next.
The Hon. J.. G. Coates (Minister: of Pub he Works and Railways) returned ,to Wellington from the Taranaki district this afternoon.
The Horn C. J. Parr (Minister of Education) will leave for the South Island to-night. He will visit Christchurch, Oxford, Temuka, Pleasant Point, Albury, Fairlie, Timaru; Balclutha, and Invercargill, etc., and will return to Wellington about the end of next week.
The esteem in which the late Mr. J. H. Finney, of Nelson, was held was shown by the large attendance at his funeral on Tuesday. Among those present were his former journalistic confrere8 ' members of the various bodies with which he had been associated, representatives of the Nelson City Council, the Masonic lodges, members of the I^eJson and Waimea Cricket Associations, Agricultural and Pastoral Association, Nelson Jockey Club, Nelson Trotting Club, and Nelson Automobile Association Before the funeral a Urge number of the members of the Southern Star Lodge met at the lodge room and feehn* reference was made to the late AU. hmney s many fine qualities
