AUTOMATIC TELEPHONES
WARNING TO SUBSCRIBERS.
Telephone subscribers using automatic instruments have received notifications .from the Department with respect to the proper care of their telephones. Xne dial, it is pointed out, must be operated with a finger. The use of a pencil or other hard substance tends to injure the mechanism and prevent accuracy in the mechanical section of the number required. The dial, when moved, must be permitted to return to its normal position without assistance, and nothing must be done to hasten its action. . . •■ ■
