DISTRESSED FARMERS
GOVERNMENT HELP ASKED FOR.
(Received 13th October, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, 12th October. A deputation of farmers waited on Mr. Baldwin, and asked for an immediate statement of the Government's intentions in regard to assisting to meet the agricultural depression. The leader of the deputation said there had been a decrease of 11 per cent, in the number of agricultural workers since Jnne, 1921. Mr. Baldwin, asked for further information before announcing his policy.
