EMPIRE EXHIBITION
PROPOSAL TO ABANDON AWARDS.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COFYRIQHT.)
(AUBTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 10th October.
Owing to the many difficulties in the way of assessing effectively tho merits of the different exhibits at the Empire Exhibition, the authorities propose to abandon competitive awards, and to issue instead a commemorative medal to all exhibitors. An endeavour is being made to secure the support of the Dominions.
If tho general opinion favours the proposal, steps will be immediately taken to regularise the abandonment of awards. If it is found impossible, the awards will, probably be made by a jury appointed by the exhibitors in the various sections.
