A CLARION MESSAGE

BUT A VOICE WORN OUT.

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.)

(AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZBALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.)

OTTAWA, 11th October. Through cheering crowds at Toronto, ■Mr. Lloyd George went to the City Hall and spoke through a megaphone, his voice being* nearly inaudible. Later a mass meeting heard his message on Empire unity: "So that when a war-cry goes up Britain may be strong enough to cry a halt." Mr. Lloyd George followed on the same lines as in previous speeches. His voice was noticeably hoarse, and the back rows scarcely heard him.

Dame Clara Butt sang the National Anthem.

Mr. Lloyd George will proceed to Winnipeg next week, after resting at Nia gara Falls.
