TRUE TO VOWS TO THE END
LONDON, 2nd October.
The "Daily Chronicle" correspondent in Paris states that Count Mattnsich and his wife recently travelled the Continent and humbly arrived a month a«o incognito. The Princess remained with the Count to the end, true to the vow they took when, years ago, they braved the Royal Courts of Vienna, Brussels, and Berlin.
The.. Princess, now brokenhearted, retains, at the age of 65, some of the majesty and nobleness of demeanour which formerly made her one of the beauties of Europe. She says: "I have nothing to live for. He was my life. I am without friends and money, and do not know what will become of me." It is understood that the Belgian Court, which made many offers, conditional on her leaving the Count, now offers enough to enable her to spend her closing days in comfort.
