WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION

A meeting of the management committee of the Wellington Boxing Association was held last evening, Mr. J. E. Staples presiding. There also were present Messrs. P. W. Woods, W. G. Mellish, B. A. Guise, Earl Stewart, W. G. Talbot.(secretary), W. W. Cooke. The Hutt Va.lley. Association was granted permission to stage a, contest on Monday evening between Tommy Fairhall and Jack Finney, for a purse qf £150. It was decided that the association be granted the use of the ring equipment of the Wellington body. Applications for matches by Jimmy Hill and Jim Flett were referred to the match committee.

Mr. Earl Stewart was instructed to attend a meeting of the executive of the Wellington Carnival and Advertis™S Association on Thursday evening as the Boxing Association's representative It was decided to present a cold medal to Wellington College, for the moat scientific boxer at the school tournament.
