LOWER HUTT SITTING.
The monthly Bitting of the Lower Hutt Magistrate's Court was held today, before Mr. E. Page, S.M.y and C. B. Robinson, and H. W. Kendall, Justices* of the Peace. ■ '
A youth, for riding his bicycle on the footpath, was fined 10s and 7s costs. Mary Garry, for riding a bicycle at night without a light, was fined 10s and 7s costs.
For driving his motor-lorry through the main street without a tail light, F. G. Goss was fined £1 and 7s costs.
Allowing his stock to wander on the public street cost-,W.;J. AVillis £1 and 7s costs on each of two charges. •' ; Judgment for. plaintiff by defcuilt was given in the ■ undefended civil case, Weir and Biggs v.. C. Johnson, £21 3s Id, ,with £3 3s costs: ■ '.-".-
In the case of A, •J. Kea-rns v. the Lower Hutt Borough Council, a claim for £5,. adjournment was made for one month to enable the Bench to. decide whether the plaintiff should be nonsuited owing to sufficient 'notice not having been given to the Borough Council of intention to proceed. In a judgment summons case, M. Coffey was ordered to pay £24 12s to E. Reynolds in sums of 10s per month, or in default suffer 20 days? imprisonment.
