KING'S THEATRE REOPENING.

The management of the King's Theatre takes pride in making it known that after having undergone extensive alterations and improvements the grand reopemng_ will take place next Friday. It •s the intention of the management to present weekly the world's very best in piotorh] and musical programmes, under ;d_eal conditions, and no expense hasbeen spared in making the King's theatre the most attractive and up-to-date in New Zealand. It is interesting to note that Mr.. L. D. Austin has been appointed musical director, and no less than twelve picked musicians from the largest.theatres in Australasia have been engaged, thus making the King's Select Orchestra the largest in Wellington.- The. opening attraction is a Paramount special, "The Rustle in Silk," an adaptation o£ the famous ftory by Cosmo Ilamiiton. Betty Compson, Conwav Tearie, and Anna Q. Nilsson are cast in the leading roles. The story features Miss Compson as a. humble daughter of the poor, who finds her way into 'the heart of a great English statesman through "The Rustle of Silk." The story deals with life in the highest circles of English aristocracy and offers possibilities for some of the most wonderful frockings and dresses that have ever graced a picture. In addition a comedy, a Buiton Holmes Travelogue, and the latest Gazette will be screened. Thu box plan opens on Wednesday at The Bristol.
