EMPRESS THEATRE.
Seven years ago Mary Pickford made her initial success in "fess of the Storm Country," a dramatic story of ; a fight by squatters against an autocrat, who preaches Christianity without attempting- to practise it. So popular did Tess become as time went on that Miss Pickford decided to receate her famous role, and the result is now to be seen at the Empress Theatre. With all the latest developments in screen art at the producer s call, an even greater success has been achieved, and the picture must rank as one of the most attractive that has been seen for some considerable time In addition, two comedies, one from the Mack Sennett Studios, are very entertaining and amusing, and topical pictures add to the general interest of the programme. Musical numbers by the Empress Orchestra provide a suitable accompaniment. :
