Mr. Will Appleton left By the Tahiti to-day on a visit to 'Australia.
Mr. Evan Parry is leaving for Sydney by the Tahiti to-day, proceeding Home via Melbourne and Colombo.
Mr. B. L. Hammond, assistant-secre-tary of the New Zealand Employers' Federation, has returned to Wellington from a business visit to the Auckland district.
Mr. J. Harlem, formerly superintendent engineer and acting-general manager of the Wellington Municipal Milk Department, has received advice of his appointment as manager of a large milk and cold storage company in Australia, but owing to health and family reasons has decided to remain in New Zealand for the time being.
Mr. P. G. Morgan, Director of the New Zealand Geological "Survey, who left by the Marama for Australia as one of the Government delegates to the PanPacific Scientific Congress, being held in Melbourne and Sydney, was entertained at an informal afternoon tea, on Thursday afternoon, by the officers of the Geological Survey and Mines Department Mr. A. H. Kimbell, Under-Sec-retary for Mines, on behalf of the staff, expressed the hope that Mr. Morgan would have a pleasant trip. Mr. Morgan replied briefly thanking the staff for their good wishes, and trusted that he personally, and the Dominion as a whole, would benefit by the experience gained at the congress.
