NAVY LEAGUE

MONTHLY MEETING.

The monthly meeting of the Wellington branch of the Navy League was .held yesterday afternoon. Captain Chudley presided.

It was decided to forward letters of condolence to the relatives of the late Sir William Fraser, Mr. R. Turnbull, Mr. W. H. Morton, and Mr. G. Hume. Deceased were all earnest workers for the league, said the chairman, and their deaths were deeply regretted by all members.

Arrangements for the children's fancy dress ball were reported to be well in hand.

A resolution of appreciation was passed to the Prime Minister and the Government on the increasing of the Naval subsidy.

A new leaflet on the subject of the league's activities was approved for circulation.

It was reported to the meeting that the wreath for the Nelson Day celebrations at London had been prepared, and was to be taken Home on the Athenic, which is to sail about the middle of the month.
