AUCKLAND, This Day. At the Supreme Court David M'Artbur Todd, who absconded to Australia while on bail to answer a charge of the theft of a portmanteau, was sentenced ti eighteen months' hard labour. Hugh M'Dougall Adams, a slaughterman, for failing to account for £25 collected on behalf of the Slaughtermen's Union, was admitted to probation on condition that ho refunded £1 » wtsb.
