IMPRISONMENT FOR THEFT

AUCKLAND, 3rd August, In the Supreme Court to-day, Louis Neary was sentenced to a year's imprisonment with hard labour, for theft He asked a Maori to back a double receiving £10 for a £1 bet, and then'left without giving change. George Percival Fuge was acquitted on a charge of receiving property stolen from residents. .
