DAIRY CONTROL BILL
COMPULSORY POWERS NECESSARY.
The Dairy Committee of 'the. New 2ealai d Farmers' Cor.ference made the following recommendation to that, organisation torday:—"That this Dominion Conference considers that it is essential to the dairying' industry that the Dairy Control Bill be made law as early as possible this session, with the compulsory clauses retained."
The president, Mr. W. J. Poison, remarked that it was essential that the conference should say something definite on this question. Owing to the exigencies of the position in Parliament there was a chance that the most important provisions of the measure might be lost through stonewalling. It was absolutely necessary that the compulsory powers be retained. He thought all' present would agree that without the applicathl COmpulslon the BiU would be
The resolution was unanimously adopted by the conference.
