DAMAGES AWARDED

COLLISION AT LOWER HUTT.

A. case arising put of a collision between the Lower Hutt borough fire engine and a taxicar owned by J. Babin-r----t-on, which occurred on 17th January 'ast ' a heard yesterday before Mr. F. X, Hunt, S.M., at Lower Hutt. The parties cited by the plaintiff Babington, who was represented by Air H F 0 Leary, were T. W. Slinn, captain of the lu-3 Brigade, who was driving'the •engme, and the Lower Hutt Borough t.ouncil, which owned the engine. At the time of the accident there was a high hedge on the corner, which prevented the parties from seeing each other.
