■ ' WANGANUI, This Day. ; Mr. Barton, S.M.,'to-day fined Levin and Co. £5 for supplying liquor to Wong Hall, a Chinese, who is under the ase of- 21. years. The case was a sequel to' the recent police raid, when a quantity of liquor w a s seized on Wong's premises. The Magistrate said the fact that such a .quantity of liquor was found on Wong's premises in a comparatively, short time led him to the conclusion.. that a. "ehut-eye" policy had been adopted in rejzard to the sale. It was stated by counsel that it was the first case against the firm's.local .branch, and the.wholesale license had been vhe'ld for 35 years.
