BRITISH LABOUR

PARLIAMENTARY DISCIPLINE.

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.)

(PUBLISHED IN THE HUES.)

LONDON, 4th July. " The Times " lobbyist states that the Labour Party at its recent meeting decided that in future no division on a motion for the suspension of a member shall be challenged without the concurrence of the front Opposition bench, in order that the member incurring suspension will know that he is acting entirely on his own.

It is understood that the executive of the party definitely pledged itself, in circumstances of emergency, to act on the directions given by the acting-leader. This is important, because last week some members of the Labour " Cabinet" seemed to range themselves on the side of the suspended members.
