HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
The House of Representatives met today at 2.30 p.m. Sir John Luke gave . notice of bis intention to move for a return showing the cost of the Army rifle, meeting held at Trenthiim in March last. The Leader of the Opposition is to ask the Minister of Railways whether he will place on the table the reports in connection with' the proposed electrification of the Wellington-Hutt Valley railway line. . The- Sale of Food and Drugs Amendment Bill was introduc'-d by the Minister of Public Health and "read a first time. i( The Hon. W. Downfa Stewart moved : "That a Select Committee be appointed/ consisting of ten members, to deal with all the matters in connection with industries and commerce; with power to call for persons, papers, and records; three to iorm a quorum : the committee to consist of Mr. Atmore, Mr. Girling, Mr. Harris, Sir J. P. Luke, Mr. Munro, Mr. M'Leod, Mr. Nash, Mr. Savage, Mr. Siaey. and the muver."—This was agreed to. (Left sitting.)
