LEGISLATION TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC.

SYDNEY, This Day. In view of the formation recently of a number of new insurance companies, the Minister of Justice (Mr. John Ley) has announced that he is submitting a scheme to Cabinet. with the object of protecting the public against companies that are bona ride. Under this scheme a public officer will investigate and report on the prospects of each company.
