THE DEATH OF PRINCESS CHRISTIAN

The Governor-General (Viscount Jelhcoe) sent, the following telegram to the Secretary^ of State for the Colonies on the occasion pf the death of Her Royal Highness Princess Christian: "Following for His Majesty the King: I beg to tender to Your Majesties, on behalf of the Government and'people of New Zealand, and on behalf of Lady Jellicoe arid myself, our most respectful sympathy on the death of Her Hoyal Highness Princess Christian, news of which has been received with the deepest regret throughout the Dominion."

His Excellency has .received the following reply: "His Majesty the King commands me to cdhvey an expression of his appreciation of kind message of sympathy from the Government and people of New Zealand, and from Her Excellency and yourself."
