A plethora of thrills, tvhich include a. fight with an octopus, a storm at eea, scenes of pearl divers at work, and.' 1 overlaying it all the remarkably human characters of Robert Louis Stevenson and Lloyd Osbourne—such are the high lights of "Ebb Tide," being; shown at Shortt's Theatre to-.da-y. The finelydrawn characters divide' interest sd equally in the ntory that Mr. Melford, instead of featuring any one or two players, has assembled a. notable cast, all of whom are of "star" or near-star rank in their own right. . Thp women are Lila Lee and Jacqueline Logan.. The msn include James Kirkwood, Raymond Hatton, George Fawcett, and Noab Beery. As in the case of "Burning Sands," beautiful exterior_scenes are the most important feature oi "Ebb Tide" A Pacific island was chosen for the locale and transformed into a tropical islo. The supports are good.
