TRADES COUNCIL MEETING

A meeting of the Wellington Trades ami Labour Council was held last night. Mr. J. Bead, president, was in the chair.

Mr. Read was appointed to take part in a function which is to be held next week under the auspices of the Educational' Association of New Zealand.

It was decided to donate £2 2s to the fund for extending the activities of the national office of the Labour Party, and to recommend all nnions and unionists connected with th» council to support the scheme.

The report of Messrs. F. D.. Cornwell and J. Barrass, delegates to the recent apprentices' conference, waß received, and it was decided to forward copies to all affiliated unions in which apprentices are engaged.
