MISS SHAND AT OTAGO CARNIVAL.

I (BY TELEOBAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) j ' DUNEDIN, 26th April At a swimming carnival to-night, Miss Gwitha Shand, in addition to giving an exhibition, won the 100 yards ladies' interclub handicap from scratch, her actual time being 72 3-ssec. Miss Minnie Jepson (Otago), who, with a handicap of 6sec, finished second, lowered her own New Zealand record of 34sec to 33 3-5 sec ia the 50 yards Otago school girls' championship. In the 100 yards Otago school girls' championship, which she won,, she equalled the New Zealand record of 80sec. Ruddenklau (Oamaru) won the. 440 yards Otago championship by 20 yards in 6min 53sec. Lewis (Otago) was second, and Douglas (Oamaru) was third.
